No, front license plates are not required in New Brunswick.

The requirements for front license plates was eliminated in July of 2019. Since then, passenger and light commercial vehicles no longer required license plates to operate on New Brunswick roads and highways.

The requirement now is that the license plate must be displayed on the back of a vehicle.

Keep in mind that there are still some vehicles that require a front license plate in New Brunswick. These include buses, school buses, fire trucks, dump trucks, tractor trailers, and bucket trucks.
